Please select from the following Golf Swing Training topics:

Golf Swing Training is not limited to practice swings a couple of times before taking a shot. There are physical aspects, there are mental aspects. The physical golf game requires whole swing, part swing, fitness or muscle group training. The mental golf game requires game approach, swing approach, mind focusing and mind clearing – and knowing when to do them. Whichever aspect of swing training you focus on, the ultimate goal is to move the "action" from the conscious to the sub-conscious.

Why is Golf Swing Training so important?

The human body is essentially an upright form, with most muscles positioned for simple movements that take place in vertical or horizontal planes. Everything the golf swing isn’t. The golf swing requires precise co-ordination of the legs, hips, back, arms, shoulders and neck to create a rotating disc on a forward incline. The club (an extension of that disc) has to arrive at the ball – squarely no less - and at the desired moment of the swing, hitting the golf ball on the way through.

And it has to go straight.

And it has to go the right distance.

And it has to happen every time.

Sound complex? Little wonder people have trouble getting it right.

When should Golf Swing Training be attempted?

There are different thoughts on when golf swing training should be attempted. Most would agree that some degree of early achievement can be attained by the golfer on their own. Nothing can match the buzz when your hard work pays off – the sweet ping of a tee shot, the sight of a wedge shot rolling right up to the hole.

In short, Golf Swing Training will be taken when the player decides it is necessary - when the frustration overtakes the achievement game after game. To be on this site, you may have already reached that point. If you are still enjoying your own development, by all means read around but stick with your game. It may surprise you. When you reach a flat point, we’ll still be here.

A final note

There are some excellent Swing Training Programs and Swing Training Aids on this site. But with your best interests in mind, keep in mind that the best way to shave the last few strokes off your score is with a professional golfing lesson. I place no caveats on that, I believe everyone should - at some point - regardless of the opinion they hold of their own game. Every player is different, and only face to face contact with an golf instructor will pinpoint any trouble areas. I recommend you shop around, ask around, have a talk with them direct – find one that speaks in a manner you understand. I particularly suggest you find one that will take at least one playing lesson, to see you in action. They may see room for improvement where you thought none was needed.

About This Site

Based in Australia, this site is run independantly of the companies you'll find listed on here. It's ultimate purpose will eventually be to review market products, sort through the advertising fluff and give straight advice on the benefits or otherwise of various Golf Swing Training equipment.

Regardless of your golf development, this site has something for you. I suggest you start up on the left with whatever area you are interested in improving, and go from there.
